Manitou Springs-  Just four miles west of Colorado Springs lies this beautiful community tucked amongst the mountains.  The town has nine named mineral springs fed from the melting snow on Pikes Peak. Many of the springs have been renovated and are safe to drink from.  A quaint and charming town with a variety of restaurants and tourist attractions.

Cripple Creek-  Part of the late 1800s Gold Rush, Cripple Creek has traveled a varied path through the years.  Miners flocked to the area, bringing with them hopes of wealth and good fortune.  For most of the 1900s Cripple Creek became a quiet town full of history.  Now it is once again offering visitors a change at good fortune through its casinos.  There are still many historical sites to observe as well. Cripple Creek is located about 45 miles southwest of the Post.

Fountain- Fountain is located approximately 10 miles south of Ft. Carson. It is a small pocket community of about 15,000. Fountain was honored as one of 2002's All America Cities.  Its' close proximity to the Post, and small town friendliness, make it a popular choice while looking for housing.

Pueblo- Pueblo, located 43 miles south of Colorado Springs, is a large agricultural community.  It hosts the Colorado State Fair every summer and has an abundance of other inexpensive, family-friendly activities.
